Cookie Notice
Effective date: November 5, 2026
This notice explains the cookies and similar browser storage used by Ternary Developments Inc. ("Ternary") on the signup, checkout and member pages we run for businesses, on the Ternary dashboard, and on ternarydev.com. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to the data.
Your choice
On signup and checkout pages, a banner asks whether you accept cookies, with equal Accept and Decline buttons. You can sign up whichever you choose.
- Decline: no ad pixels load, and no ad identifiers are kept.
- Accept: the business's Meta, Google and TikTok pixels load, if it has added them.
Your choice is remembered on your device for 365 days, and then you are asked again. To change it sooner, clear this site's data in your browser settings and reload the page: the banner will show again. If you decline after accepting, the ad identifiers kept with the record of how you arrived are removed at once, and the pixels already on the page are told to stop. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser at any time, although sign-in and signup may then stop working.
Always on: needed for the pages to work
On secure connections these names start with __Host-.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
accessToken | Keeps you signed in | 40 minutes |
refreshToken | Renews your sign-in | 7 days |
customerOAuthState | Protects the Discord sign-in step | 10 minutes |
tny_signup | Keeps your signup in progress | 30 days |
tny_discord | Finishes linking Discord if Discord sends you back to a different browser | 10 minutes |
adminGuildInstall (dashboard only) | Protects the step that adds the Ternary bot to a Discord server | 10 minutes |
tny_consent (browser storage) | Remembers your cookie choice | 365 days |
tny_signup:…, tny_signup_slug:…, tny_signup_guild:…, tny_signup_last (browser storage) | Remember which signup you are in the middle of | Until you clear them |
Always on: how you arrived
These are first-party: they are read only by Ternary, for the business whose page you are on. They are set whether or not you accept cookies. They do not hold ad identifiers unless you accept.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
tny_touch | Remembers how you first arrived (the page, the referring site and any campaign tags), so the business can see which pages and campaigns bring new members | 90 days |
tny_touch_id, tny_landing (browser storage) | Hold the same record while the tab is open | Until you close the tab |
Only if you accept: advertising
These are set by the ad companies whose pixels the business adds, under their own privacy policies. They are used to measure which ads bring people to sign up. The names below are examples. Meta, Google and TikTok decide which cookies they set, and for how long.
| Company | Examples | Learn more |
|---|---|---|
| Meta (Meta Pixel) | _fbp, _fbc | facebook.com/privacy/policy |
| Google (Google tag) | _gcl_au and other _gcl_ cookies | policies.google.com/privacy |
| TikTok (TikTok Pixel) | _ttp | tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy |
We also set one item of our own in your browser storage, tny_fired, so that each signup is reported to the business's pixels only once. It stays until you clear it.
When you accept, we also keep the ad click identifier in the link you arrived by (such as gclid, fbclid or ttclid), these companies' cookies, your IP address and your browser details, with the record of how you arrived.
ternarydev.com
ternarydev.com sets only the cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work. It does not run analytics or advertising tools. If that changes, we will update this notice first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
